Common Core conference aims to attract educators this January

As school districts continue to implement the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), there is no shortage of professional development opportunities for educators nationwide. One organization that is making sure instructors are ready to teach according to the CCSS is The Common Core Institute, which specializes in research, training and consulting related to the implementation of the Standards.

From January 31 through February 1, the Institute will host the National Conference on Common Core State Standards and Diverse Learners in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Those who attend the event will have an opportunity to meet with other administrators, teachers and faculty from across the country and learn from CCSS experts.

Kylene Beers, author of the book "When Kids Can't Read/What Teachers Can Do," and Robert E. Probst, author of the text "Response and Analysis: Teaching Literature in Secondary Schools," will be among those speaking at the Conference.

The event, which will be held at the Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown Hotel, is expected to attract educators from far and wide. In fact, the organization's last conference brought out more than 200 attendees and expert presenters, according to the Institute's website.
