Exciting animal live cams to share with your kids

Many students have an interest in animals. They may love the family dog or have their very own cat or fish. Teach your kids about more exotic animals by showing them these live cams:

Eagles
The American Bald Eagle can be seen across the U.S., but it's not often you can have an up-close and personal encounter with these birds. This live cam from Washington, D.C., features "Mr. President" and "The First Lady." These two birds mated and are expecting hatchlings in March 2016. Your kids will love seeing the beautiful plumage on these majestic creatures. The live cam provides a view directly into the nest where you can eagerly await the new eaglets' arrival.

Wolves
Another iconic U.S. animal can be found in Ely, Minnesota at the International Wolf Center. Here you can watch a pack of four canines, including two northwestern gray wolves and two great plains gray wolves. The four, named Denali, Luna, Boltz and Aidan, can be seen curled up to stay warm in the chilly snow or romping about in fast-paced games. Occasionally you'll spot a wolf handler bringing in dinner of white tailed deer via a wheelbarrow.

Manatees
Known as "sea cows," manatees are massive underwater creatures that seek warm waters during cold winters. The critters are found at Blue Spring State Park in Florida where they enjoy higher water temperatures and hang out together. Watch this live camera for a while and your kids might even spot baby manatees cuddled up with their mothers as they float in the ocean.

Kids can learn about zoology by tracking the animals' habits and learning about their individual personalities. Science is an important part of Common Core testing and developing an interest in this important subject may help your kids learn what careers they want to explore as they grow up.
